Background
Since 2018, CXC has been providing contractor payroll and supply chain management services to Transurban.
In the first year of implementation, we supported Transurban to achieve nearly $1 million in savings, ensured background checks were conducted on all contractors and provided advanced analytics across the entire workforce.
Challenge
Transurban’s talent acquisition (TA) team were conducting a significant amount of recruitment activity to support their business-critical customer service contact centre. They required expertise from a number of key roles, including project managers, payroll officers, finance managers and contract administrators.
However, they lacked the internal resources required to meet the volume they were sourcing. Transurban went to market to hire TA consultants to join the team, but due to a tight talent market in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the process was taking longer than expected.
Our Solution
Through CXC’s Access to Talent team, we proposed a ‘Talent on Demand’ service model, where we provided an experienced talent partner, Miriam Harniess. Miriam is a key member of CXC’s Access to Talent team, with over seven years’ of recruitment experience across financial services and education industries.
Miriam would deliver contingent recruitment services onsite for a 4-week period to see the business through the increase in activity.
The delivery model was implemented as an embedded solution within the TA team to support end-to-end contingent recruitment services and administrative support. The solution was designed to free up some of the internal TA team’s capacity, to enable them to focus on their core capability of sourcing the best talent for Transurban.
Results
CXC successfully delivered the ‘Talent on Demand’ solution, which allowed Transurban to maintain internal recruitment activity with hiring managers with no disruption to operations. The solution was a seamless integration to the internal TA team.
CXC’s talent partner, Miriam, was already familiar with Transurban’s operations, having supported Transurban with recruitment via CXC’s Workforce Exchange talent pooling solution. Because of this, she was able to quickly engage with Transurban’s technology and processes.
Miriam’s existing stakeholder relationships enabled her to understand the business requirements and the organisational structure, providing recruitment support services to a high standard.
“CXC was quickly able to mobilise a recruitment on demand service in our time of need. Miriam joined our team for a 4-week period and, through her knowledge of our business and CXC’s contingent management program, was able to hit the ground running. She added immediate value to our TA team through the delivery of contingent recruitment services.”
